Parental involvement at home is essential for the learning and success of children with learning disabilities. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the mediating role of parent participation in the relationship between the shame of having children with learning disabilities and the performance of students with learning disabilities. 140 students with learning disabilities were selected from all pupils of Tehran's primary school by the available sampling method. In this study, the Parental Involvement Scale of Olson Barnes (1992) was used to investigate parents' participation and the Parent's Attitude Scale (GOODNER, 2002) was used to investigate the shame of having a child with a learning disability. The results showed that the shame of having a child with a learning disorder has a direct and significant effect on the performance of students with learning disabilities and the effect of parent involvement on the performance is direct and significant (p<0.05). The more positive the parents' attitude towards their children, the more their involvement and participation in home and school activities will be. Also, the shame of having a child with a learning disorder has a significant effect on the student's performance due to the parents' participation. The model has a good fit and 17% of students' performance variance is explained by the research variables.

The purpose of this research was to study the effect of cognitive, family-based games on working memory and mathematics performances of students with dyscalculia. This study was conducted through a quasi-experimental research design with a pretest-posttest and a control group. Among the students with moderate intelligence and with at least 1.5 standard deviation below the mean in the test of K-math, 30 were selected by convenience sampling, and were randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups. The K-math test and the Wechsler digit span were used as data collection tools. The cognitive family-centered program was administered to the experimental group in 12 sessions (i.e., two one-hour sessions per week). The results of data analysis using Multiple Analysis of the Covariance (MANCOVA) showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in working memory and mathematical performances. Thus, it can be concluded that the conducted interventions for rehabilitation can be used as a useful complementary intervention to reduce problems of students with dyscalculia.

The present study investigates the effects of protection education on preventing sexual vulnerabilities in educable mentally retarded pubescentgirls. The research method is quasi-experimental, and the statistical population consists of all 64 training centers for mentally retarded girls in Tehran. The sampling units include four training centers selected randomly. After administration ofthe questionnaire called “Sexual Abuse Vulnerability Questionnaire of Children and Adolescents” prepared by Oliya’ee Zand which had acceptable validity and reliability (more than α=0.85), 40 students were identified as more sexually vulnerable. They formed the experimental group and were tested through intervention programsfor protection against sexual vulnerability. First a pre-test was administered after which intervention programs were implemented. Then, the post-test and follow Up-test were implemented to see the effect of protection education. Finally, using the statistical model of repeated measures, research questions were evaluated. The results show that protection education about sex is effective in improving abilities to maintain and respect physical privacy and developing preventive skills to avoid sexual vulnerability.Based on the results,it is recommended that other exceptionalpubescentboys and girls should be trained using various teaching instrument in training centers for protection against sexual vulnerabilities.
